Tool notes
Interfaces, account limits and available features can change. Consult the provider’s current notes before an exercise, especially when choosing a tool, creating media or working with files. A provider announcement does not verify availability in your own account.
Worksheets and downloads
Approved exercise files and all eight Toolbox components are available without registration. Open Markdown (.md) files in a text editor. The Day 12 spreadsheet uses English sheet names and formulas. Examples use fictional data. The Day 27 insert is an exercise in recognising untrusted instructions.

OpenAI announced ChatGPT Slides on 16 October 2026. It can create and edit presentations from a conversation, files or an outline, and export them on the web to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides. The feature is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access. If it appears in your account, first check the claim, figures and source card as Day 13 teaches; polished slides cannot repair unsupported evidence. This is a provider announcement, not a new test of the book exercise.

Google announced on 13 October 2026 that Gemini 4 Argon is rolling out in the Gemini app for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Google also announced new customization and app-connection controls, while noting that most connected apps are available in English in the US and some in other regions. Check the model and connection settings actually shown in your account before repeating the comparison. These announcements do not change the book’s recorded 7 September test or constitute a new test.

OpenAI announced GPT-6 in ChatGPT on 7 October 2026, after the course comparison. Its release notes describe a gradual rollout across plans and different models for paid and free tiers; workspace settings can also affect access. Record the model and mode your account actually displays if you repeat the exercise. The book’s 7 September observations remain historical, and no new comparison was performed.

Anthropic announced Claude Haiku 5.5 on 7 October 2026. If you repeat the comparison, note the Claude model actually shown in your account. This later announcement does not alter the book’s 7 September observation of “Sonnet 5” or establish a new test result.

OpenAI announced audio-file uploads in ChatGPT on 6 October 2026 for paid subscriptions and workspaces. The feature can create transcripts, summaries and follow-up drafts from supported recordings; availability may depend on workspace settings, region, client version and model, and transcripts may contain errors or vary across languages. OpenAI also announced an iOS scan function on 1 October that combines several photographed pages into one PDF. These are provider announcements, not new tests of the book exercise: check the resulting transcript or PDF against the original before using it as evidence.

OpenAI announced ChatGPT for Word on 17 September 2026, with tools to draft, summarize, revise selected text and adjust formatting in Word. The announcement says it is available on all ChatGPT plans, subject to plan token limits. This is an announcement, not a new test of the book exercise.

OpenAI announced personalized explanations based on connected health information in the Health tab on 28 September 2026. It also announced a Privacy Center rollout on 21 September. These notices do not establish medical accuracy, availability in every account or a change to the book’s health-safety guidance.

OpenAI announced ChatGPT Images 2.5 on 8 September 2026, including image editing and templates. Its release notes say templates are not yet available in Work mode and image-generation limits are unchanged. This is provider information, not a new image test for the book.

Anthropic announced Claude Sonnet 5.5 on 28 September 2026, after the book’s recorded comparison on 7 September. The “Sonnet 5” label in that comparison remains a dated observation of the interface at the time; this announcement does not update the historical result. No new comparison test has been performed.

Google announced a Gemini app for Windows on 10 September 2026, after the book’s recorded comparison. Its release notes describe access from Windows 10 and later and links with Google apps such as Gmail and Drive. This is a provider announcement; it is not a new test or evidence that the app or connected features are enabled in every account.
